Nice are eyeing moves for either Lucas Digne from Aston Villa or Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Aït-Nouri before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the French side are looking to strengthen in the left-back position and both players are on their list of options.
It’s been a busy summer so far for Nice, with Terem Moffi arriving in a €22.5m deal from FC Lorient and Jeremie Boga in an €18m deal from Atalanta as well as Morgan Sanson joining on loan from Aston Villa.
Manager Francesco Farioli wants further additions, though, particularly in defence, and the left-back position is one he is focused on at this moment in time.
L’Equipe report he and Nice have his eyes on two in the Premier League and they are Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne and Wolves’ Rayan Aït-Nouri.
The former is nothing new, having been linked extensively over the last few weeks with a loan deal until the end of the season.
Indeed, a report yesterday made it clear that negotiations were continuing between all the relevant parties and Aston Villa director of football Monchi was busy sourcing a replacement before sanctioning Digne’s departure.
Aït-Nouri has also been consistently linked with a move away from Wolves throughout this summer and again Nice have been in the picture, with a report at the end of last month stating he was a priority target for them.
There hasn’t been any progress on a potential deal since then and at this point it seems he is likelier to remain at Wolves and Digne leave Aston Villa than the other way around.
Nice are interested in both nonetheless, though, and seemingly deciding between the pair as they look to strengthen at left-back.
