Turkish newspaper Posta claim Besiktas have identified Liverpool right back Nathaniel Clyne as a target for next season and that they are already in talks with the player.

The Black Eagles are in the market for a right-back as their first-choice player in that position, Gokhan Gonul, will become a free agent at the end of the season.

The other option for the Super Lig club is former Barcelona defender Douglas, but it’s likely he will return to Brazil. Subsequently they’ve turned their attention to the Liverpool outcast, and are holding discussions over a pre-contract agreement.

The 29 year old has spent the second half of last season on loan at Bournemouth, before returning to Liverpool. However, in the summer he suffered a knee injury which kept him out for more than six months.

Posta claim Besiktas are hopeful an agreement can be reached with Clyne as the Liverpool player will become a free agent at the end of the season.
