According to a claim in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor are showing an interest in Liverpool central defender Nathaniel Phillips.
The 27-year-old could look to leave the Premier League side this summer after finding his chances limited. In the past few seasons, he’s been loaned out to Bournemouth, Celtic and Cardiff City.
Isci Haber report Trabzonspor are in transfer talks to sign Philips after contracting the player. The Turkish side are expected to be busy in this window and have been linked with a number of players form England. Hungary international Attila Szalai is also said to be an option for centre back position.
It’s claimed the Super Lig are hoping to clinch a loan deal for the Liverpool man, but there are no reports of any talks between the two clubs.
Philips spent last season on loan at Cardiff City where he made 18 appearances, scoring 1 goal. He’s contracted to Liverpool until June 2025.
The defender had a brief spell in the starting eleven during the 2020/21 season due to injuries, but has fallen out of favour since.
