On Tuesday, Foot Mercato reported Stade Rennais have identified Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville as a potential candidate to replace Désiré Doué.
Later that day, the Ligue 1 side completed the signing of Glen Kamara from Leeds, and now hope to take another player from Elland Road.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who state the French club are working on signing Crysencio Summerville.
After securing Kamara’s services, Stade Rennais have continued to hold talk with Daniel Farke’s side for the winger.
He starred for the Whites last season, managing 21 goals and 10 assists from 49 games in all competitions. At this moment in time, the player ‘would not be opposed’ to the idea of joining Stade Rennais.
Summerville has also attracted interest from other clubs, including a few from the Premier League, and this would make it difficult for the Ligue 1 side to sign him.
Leeds failed to secure a promotion to the top flight and Stade Rennais want to take advantage of this to try and sign the Dutchman. The Championship side value him around €20m.
L’Equipe say ‘the negotiations promise to be intense’ for Stade Rennais, suggesting the talks with Leeds over signing Summerville won’t be easy.
