Fenerbahçe are yet to reach an agreement with Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, despite reports to the contrary.

That’s according to Sabah Spor, who say executives from the Turkish club have denied any agreement being in place.

Batshuayi looks likely to leave Chelsea this summer, having returned from an unsuccessful loan spell at Besiktas last season.

He is not a part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans and with just a year left on his deal, now is the time for the Blues to sell to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.

Reports on social media had suggested he had struck an agreement with Fenerbahçe but Sabah Spor insist that is not the case.

They reports that while the Turkish side are ‘in talks’ over a possible deal, ‘executives’ from the club have insisted there is no agreement at this stage.

Aksam, meanwhile, have a different stance, stating that talks are underway over a loan deal and he would arrive from Chelsea on a free.

They say Batshuayi has ‘risen to the top’ of the strikers the club are looking at and there are two reasons for this; he is considered a ‘star footballer’ who is accustomed to life in Turkey and the second is the ‘economic conditions’ of the deal.

They report that Chelsea would be willing to let the Belgian go on loan for free, which is highly attractive to Fenerbahçe.

The Blues are also willing to split his wages, which are currently €4m a year. Fenerbahçe initially offered to pay €2.5m of this but then upped that to €3m, with Chelsea covering the rest.

That is why the idea of a move has suddenly picked up, with it even mooted that Fenerbahçe could sign him permanently next summer if things go well. He would be a free agent at that point.

Ajansspor, meanwhile, state that Fenerbahçe are meeting with Batshuayi’s agent today to discuss a possible move.

It seems, then, that something is certainly going on behind the scenes and while a transfer is not as done as some have suggested, talks are certainly underway and Fenerbahçe are keen on making a move happen.
