According to Besiktas news website Orta Cizgi, the club have identified Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia as a target.
The Turkish side are in the market for a striker before their transfer window closes at the end of August, and they’ve also been linked with a move for Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke in recent weeks.
According to Orta Cizgi’s, Besiktas are interested in signing the Aston Villa player and the Super Lig side are currently in talks with both the player and the Premier League club.
Kodjia was a key player in Dean Smith’s promotion squad last season, but Villa’s transfer business this summer could cast doubt over his future. Smith has bolstered his options in attacker which could result in Kodija’s getting less games in this campaign.
Last season the Ivory Coast international made 41 appearances in the Championship, scoring 9 goals.
He has just a year left on his current contract at Villa Park, and was only given 15 minutes at the weekend.
