It’s no secret that Italian sides try to avoid paying big transfer fees as much as they can. It’s been no different in the chase for West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca.
Even though there are a few clubs who’d like to land the centre-forward this summer, they all struggle to match the Hammers’ requests for the player.
The newest idea to try to convince West Ham of a deal comes from AC Milan, and is revealed by journalist Gianluca di Marzio.
Since the Rossoneri are looking to offload Divock Origi this summer, there’s been the idea of exchanging him for Scamacca.
It’s claimed that Milan and West Ham even talked about it, but the idea ‘is not taking off’ at the moment, partly because the Belgian striker is not sure about leaving the Serie A giants.
Di Marzio writes that this scenario has ‘not gained strength’, and Milan should continue looking for other ways to strengthen their attack.
It’s been reported today that West Ham want a ‘replacement’ for Scamacca before letting him go, so that was maybe a smart move from Milan to at least give it a try.
West Ham and the player, though, don’t seem so keen.
