Bayern Munich are making a fresh attempt for the signing of Kieran Trippier from Newcastle United, according to the latest reports from Germany.
Sky Deustschland journalist Florian Plettenberg now shares some exclusive news, saying the Bundesliga side ‘submitted an improved offer’ for the transfer.
It’s said there’ve been new rounds of discussions for Trippier, and Bayern are now ‘pushing’ to get him from Newcastle.
Plettenberg says there are negotiations ongoing between the clubs, with the German side now waiting for the Magpies’ response.
It’s well known that Bayern Munich had Paris Saint Germain’s Nordi Mukiele as a priority. The journalist now claims that track isn’t ruled out, but the Bundesliga side have been focused on Trippier ‘today’.
A personal agreement with the English player has already been reached, so it’s now up to Newcastle to accept the bid.
Previous claims from Germany had said the Magpies were demanding €15m for the transfer, and we’re still to see how much Bayern are putting on the table, although the talks are about a permanent deal now. It shouldn’t take long until the German media shows up with that information.
