After having their interest in Leicester City’s Dennis Praet dragged through the entire summer, Torino now seem to be preparing an offer for the final week of the window.
Turin outlet Tuttosport writes that the Serie A club will soon be sending their ‘latest official offer’ to the Foxes. That will be for a loan with an obligatory purchase clause worth €8m, or the very same amount for a direct buy.
The newspaper claims these are ‘important figures’ for Leicester City, especially because there are currently ‘no buyers’ for the player. It’s recalled that Sampdoria were interested in a simple loan, which was turned down by the Foxes ‘with a sharp no’, and that left Torino alone in the race.
According to the report, the Premier League side are satisfied with having the player in their squad, as he’s been getting a few minutes in the Premier League. However, they say the Belgian is ‘certainly’ not happy there, and continues to ask for the transfer to Turin.
Praet’s contract with Leicester City expires in 2024, and if they sell him, the Foxes would save €8m in wages. Added to the €8m from the transfer, Tuttosport writes that’d be a way for the English side to make €16m, even though that’s clearly just a way to make Torino’s offer look better.
