RB Leipzig have a chance of securing Tyler Dibling from Southampton this summer and continue to push to sign the 19-year-old.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who report that Leipzig are continuing their efforts to sign the highly rated youngster.
Dibling has been one bright spark in an otherwise miserable return to the Premier League for Southampton this year and as such has earned admirers around Europe.
The Bundesliga is keeping a close eye on him, particularly RB Leipzig, who have been credited with an interest since January and even reportedly met his agent at one point too.
Plettenberg picks up on that and now reports that Leipzig are ‘still pushing’ for the 19-year-old and have a chance of getting him too.
His belief is that they are currently the only German side in the running at while Bayern Munich chiefs Max Eberl and Christoph Freund hold a very positive opinion of the Southampton man, they’re yet to make contact with his camp.
That could give Leipzig the advantage as they’ve already moved on that front and may be ahead of their Bundesliga rivals in that respect.
Now, we’d take this with a pinch of salt because Plettenberg appears to just be jumping on the Dibling band wagon here. It’s been well established that Leipzig are keen, have spoken to his agents and everything in between so there’s nothing particularly new here.
The fact that they’re still pushing suggests they believe they have a chance of winning the race, but that remains to be seen in the summer.
