West Ham United still owe CSKA Moscow €9m of the €18m they paid for Croatian midfielder Nikola Vlasic, despite the Hammers being ordered to pay it by FIFA.
That’s according to FEAN Online, who say the Hammers have also refused to be involved in a three-way deal involving the Dutch side.
The website explains that SC Heerenveen are still chasing €3m from CSKA for Chidera Ejuke, with journalist Marcel Koppers recently revealing the case is going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Russians acquired the striker from Heerenveen in 2020 but have so far only paid €6m of the €9m transfer fee agreed at the time.
Since then, the Frisians have made several attempts to secure the last part of the money, with CSKA spokesman Kirill Breido recently insisting on Telegram that they’re going to CAS to find a solution to the issue.
They are in the same boat themselves at they are ‘still entitled’ to €9m from West Ham for Vlasic after he made the move to the London Stadium in 2021. FIFA have already ruled that the Hammers need to pay that sum.
Breido also revealed that both CSKA and Heerenveen have ‘made a proposal’ to West Ham that they simply pay €3m of the €9m they own straight to the Dutch club but the Hammers ‘do not want to cooperate’ with that proposal.
Thus, everything remains frozen and seemingly on the way to CAS to be solved.
