West Ham United’s offer for Lorient striker Terem Moffi remains on the table but is yet to match the French side’s demands.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the Hammers have offered €25m for the striker following his performances this season.
West Ham have been determined to add a striker to their squad this month after struggling for goals all season, with summer signing Gianluca Scamacca yet to adapt to life in the Premier League.
They have been linked with strikers all over Europe as a result and Moffi is one of them, with several reports in France indicating that a bid had been made.
L’Equipe confirm as much, explaining that Moffi has been approached by several clubs, including Lyon, who wanted to use Romain Favre as a bargaining chip in any deal.
Nice have also made a new offer of €20m for him, but neither negotiation is expected to go through at this moment in time.
That’s because Lorient are looking for a straight transfer, and others are yet to match the figures offered by West Ham.
They have put a €25m bid on the table, which is made up of around €5m in bonuses, but never reached the €30m figure that had been previously reported.
That bid remains on the table, though, with it stated that the French club ‘still have an offer’ from the Hammers for their star man.
Whether that is still the case after the deal for Danny Ings remains to be seen but in France, at least, they are convinced the Hammers are still in the picture.
