In recent reports about new efforts from English clubs for the signing of Raphinha from Leeds United, it’s been said a few times that Barcelona no longer stand a chance in the race.

Even though the Catalan side have a strong wish of signing the player, which is reportedly reciprocal, it was said their financial conditions were stopping them from fully fighting for the signing.

That’s why today, Goal Brasil said Leeds United were still waiting for Arsenal to bid for Raphinha, but Barcelona wouldn’t be able to join the London sides in this race.

However, following a meeting between the Leeds player’s agent, Deco, and Barcelona chiefs, it’s now claimed that the La Liga giants remain ‘very alive’ in this pursuit.

Journalist Gerard Romero writes that ‘the strength of the player and his agent’ mean that Barça have ‘many options’ of signing the player.

The report makes it clear that Chelsea already have an agreement with Leeds, but gives hope to the Catalan fans by saying there’s still a chance for the La Liga giants.

With no further details, we now wait and see if the Spanish media will back up this newfound life Barcelona might have in the race to sign Raphinha.
