Fenerbahce have reportedly ‘started negotiations’ for the signing of Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic.
According to Turkish outlet Takvim, the Istanbul side are in touch with the player’s agent to get the transfer done this summer.
Local stories had already been claiming Fenerbahce were interested in signing the 34-year-old, and it’s now said they’ve ‘gone on the attack’ for the move.
The truth it Takvim doesn’t share a great deal of details on how the Turkish club would take Perisic out of Tottenham.
The player’s contract with Spurs has one more year, so we should wait and see if the Premier League side would just accept to let him go for free or demand a fee for his transfer.
Tottenham didn’t need to pay Inter Milan to sign Perisic last summer, but with his €7m price tag on Transfermarkt, perhaps that could be an opportunity to make a few millions.
In his season with Spurs, the Croatian had 44 appearances, with one goal and 12 assists. Now it should be up to Ange Postecoglou to decide whether to keep him.
