Villarreal could be interested in a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Goncalo Guedes this summer as they turn their attention to incomings after a raft of departures.
That’s according to Marca, who report that Villarreal are ready to spend some of the money they’ve received selling players so far on strengthening their squad.
One particular area in need of addition is up front, where the apparent imminent departure of Alexander Sorloth is set to leave them with a hole needing to be filled.
Manager Marcelino specifically wants a striker and a winger, although the latter should be able to play as a second striker as well. Guedes would fit the bill nicely on that front.
They have ‘not forgotten’ the Wolves forward after he spent the second half of last season on loan with the Spanish club and would be interested in bringing him back.
Wolves are keen to move him on this summer if they can as he’s not part of their plans, so there could be a deal there to be done between the two sides.
In fact, there could be a double deal as Villarreal are also keen on keep Yerson Mosquera, who also spent last season on loan from Wolves.
The Spanish side have set their sights on making that happen, but Wolves have proven to be reluctant negotiators so far. That is unlikely to be the case if talks are opened for Guedes, though.
