Juventus have ‘sounded out’ Everton full-back Lucas Digne as they eye up a replacement for Alex Sandro.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Frenchman is one of two options the Serie A giants are looking at as they hunt the Brazilian’s successor.
Digne currently finds himself out of favour at Everton after an apparent falling out with manager Rafa Benitez behind the scenes.
That saw him dropped from their last two games, with the Frenchman missing the win over Arsenal and the subsequent defeat to Crystal Palace.
It’s led to speculation that he will be departing Everton in the near future, despite him having only signed a new deal until 2025 in February this year.
Several big clubs have already been named as potential suitors, including Juventus, and Calciomercato pick up on that today.
They say that alongside AZ Alkmaar’s Owen Wijndal, Digne is an option for the club’s post-Alex Sandro plans.
Indeed, their sporting director Federico Cherubini has ‘sounded out’ the French full-back in a move, taking advantage of the fact he is ‘on the rocks’ with Benitez at Everton.
The nature of his contact with Digne isn’t mentioned, just that there has been some sort of conversation about a potential transfer.
Whether that develops into something more is something we’re sure to discover, with January now just around the corner and Digne seemingly on his way out of Goodison Park.
