Club Brugge have released a statement after Laurens de Bock today joined Leeds United.

Describing Leeds United as a club ‘soaked in history’, the Belgian club added: ‘Club Brugge wish Laurens De Bock all the best with his move to Elland Road.’

It was officially confirmed today De Bock has signed for Leeds United on a four and half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Earlier this week the left back left Brugge’s training camp in Spain to hold transfer talks with the Championship side, and yesterday underwent his medical.

The player has been allocated the No.12 shirt and could make his debut at the weekend against Ipswich Town.

The 25 year old’s move to Elland Road ends a five year spell with the Jupiler side. De Bock lost his place in Brugge’s starting eleven this season under Ivan Leko, and a move in this transfer window looked on the cards.

There have been claims in Spain that De Bock could be joining Cultural Leonesa on loan, but that seems unlikely.
