Swedish side Brommapojkarna are ‘about to sign’ Chelsea goalkeeper Lucas Bergström, with the youngster ‘on his way’ to his new club already.
That’s according to Fotboll Skanalen, who report that the 21-year-old is set for a move to the Swedish side as their transfer window remains open, despite it being shut here.
They explain that the club are looking to bring in another goalkeeper in their winter window as last season saw them varying between three different options.
One of them, Filip Sidklev, is now being targeted by Basel and Elfsborg, and because of that Brommapojkarna are ‘about to sign’ Bergström from Chelsea.
He’s been with the Blues since he was 16 and joined from TPS and has worked his way up the youth ranks in the last few years, even featuring on the bench in some Premier League fixtures.
Bergström enjoyed a loan deal at Peterborough in July 2022 but that only lasted until the following January, and he is now instead ‘on his way’ to Sweden to sign for Brommapojkarna.
The stopper also had interest from Elfsborg, but it appears Brommapojkarna have won the race, and he will be moving there from Chelsea before the end of their winter window, which doesn’t close until the end of March.
