Bruno Guimarães has established himself as one of the key figures at Newcastle United since he arrived at St James’ Park from Lyon in January 2022.

The midfielder’s performances for the Magpies have seen him draw attention from top clubs. According to iG Esporte, Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on the Newcastle star.

PSG want to bolster their midfield in the next window and the 25-year-old’s name has been ‘evaluated internally’ at the club. They are interested in him but haven’t made an offer so far.

The Ligue 1 side looked at the Brazil international before he joined Eddie Howe’s side. They didn’t make an advance and ‘regret’ not tabling a proposal to secure his services when he was at Lyon.

Guimarães’ current deal runs down in 2026 and iG Esporte explain there is an expectation that Newcastle will receive offers for him in the summer. That doesn’t mean a transfer is expected to take shape.

PSG’s interest in the South American is unlikely to result in a move because Newcastle want to keep him. In fact, the Tyneside club are ‘looking to fend off’ European giants by offering Guimarães an improved deal.
