Yesterday, we covered a report from TuttoAtalanta which highlighted Atalanta’s interest in Everton’s Beto.
La Dea have lost Gianluca Scamacca to a long-term knee injury and they want to sign a potential replacement, but there is more to their chase for Beto and the offer made to Everton could be a rather interesting one.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report today Beto is definitely a name that interests Atalanta.
They could ‘set up’ a negotiation with the Toffees which could include striker El Bilal Touré as part of a swap, potentially plus cash, deal.
Both players have three years of contract, and it’s stated Everton paid around €25m for Beto, and Atalanta €29m for Toure.
Toure, it is mentioned, could be attracted to Everton because he wants to play as a centre-forward. Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini sees him more as a wide player, yet the player himself wants to operate more in the striker role.
Beto too could be lured by the idea of playing in the Champions League next season. With Atalanta set to face Real Madrid in the Super Cup final soon, they would want to execute the deal before that game.
