Galatasaray are set to offer Fernando Muslera a contract extension in order to avoid a potential move to Chelsea, report TürkiyeGazetesi.
The Uruguayan’s contract with Galatasaray runs until 2018, so this could give the Turkish club a potential dilemma. He would be an excellent addition to Conte’s Chelsea squad, but the Galatasaray board are determined to keep him.
A member of Galatasaray’s board also said: “We are in no rush about it. We’ll sign it tomorrow or at the end of the season. He has one year contract. We want to give him another 5 years. We’ll see what happens.”
Muslera is currently the highest earner at Galatasaray, along with Wesley Sneijder, and the Galatasaray board are willing to offer him the same terms for another 5 years.
However, the South American has recently spoken about his desire to play in the Premier League, and with Chelsea’s interest he could be tempted to head to England.
Despite the 29-year old having no Premier League experience, Muslera has played 85 games for Uruguay, and was part of the team which won the Copa America in 2011.
