Dutch club Feyenoord are set to pocket round €470,000 from Leeds United after they agreed a deal to sell Luis Sinisterra to Bournemouth permanently.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who say the Eredivisie champions have missed out on one front but still gained on the other.
Reports in England today have claimed that Bournemouth have made the decision to sign Sinisterra permanently from Leeds this summer after he impressed so far after arriving on loan in the summer.
Bournemouth will pay €20m to sign the Colombian, and that’s bad news for Feyenoord, with 1908.nl explaining they’ve missed out on the potential profit from a sale of the player.
They agreed with Leeds to take a resale percentage when they sold him for €25m but as the player has been sold at a loss, they’ve subsequently missed out.
It’s not all bad news, though, as they do retain a ‘solidarity contribution’ under FIFA’s scheme and according to the website’s calculations, that amounts to approximately €470,000.
Whether that will help cover the loss of what they could have made is probably debatable, but it seems with bad news comes a little good, and they’ll still be making something from the Leeds man’s permanent move to Bournemouth.
