With Barcelona struggling to get Bernardo Silva signed from Manchester City, it seems Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is becoming more and more of an option for them.

This situation is today explained by Spanish newspaper Marca, who detail Barça’s chase for a new midfielder.

It’s claimed that following Ikay Gundogan’s move to the Camp Nou, Manchester City won’t simply let another one of their stars just walk to the La Liga giants.

That’s why they’ve set Bernardo Silva’s price at €80m, and won’t make any discounts, especially if Barcelona turn up trying for a loan deal.

So the Catalan side will go after alternatives, and taking Lo Celso from Tottenham is one of them.

Since the midfielder had already spent a season on loan at Villarreal last season, it’s believed Barça could find a temporary deal as well.

Marca highlight the ‘very good relationship’ there is with Tottenham, partly because there are ongoing negotiations for Clement Lenglet’s stay in London.

With Xavi also liking Lo Celso, it’s said the Argentine player becomes a ‘real option’ for Barça, who are still to make their move.
