Earlier this week, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister has ended up in the sights of Inter Milan sporting director, Piero Ausilio.
This is further backed up by Calciomercato, who state the Serie A side’s chief has the midfielder’s name on his target list.
The Argentina international has managed five goals from 14 league matches with Brighton this season and also scored the opening goal in his country’s 2-0 win over Poland on Wednesday.
Mac Allister’s contract lasts until 2024 and the Seagulls retain an option to extend it by a year. It’s stated in Roberto De Zerbi’s side value him at €30m, while the Nerazzurri are hoping to bring the price down so that it can help them to sign him.
Simone Inzaghi’s side keeping tabs on the player is also reported by Calciomercatoweb. The outlet further details Inter’s plan to take the South American away from The Amex.
It’s explained Inter ‘could sell’ Valentin Carboni to Brighton to ‘strengthen themselves’ in their pursuit to sign Mac Allister. Carboni, 17, has been climbing through the Italian club’s youth teams and went on to make his debut for their first team in October.
That €30m figure seems too low given Mac Allister’s progress, and especially his growing importance with the Argentina national side. There’s every chance that when Inter Milan find out the true asking price then they’ll be forced to walk away.
