Italian side Torino will look at ‘alternative ways’ to sign Nikola Vlasic from West Ham this summer as they struggle to find the €15m to sign him permanently.
That’s according to Toro.it, who say that the Serie A side may look to renew his loan deal or seek a discount on that figure.
Vlasic has been with Torino since the summer, when he joined them on loan after falling down the pecking order after a difficult first year at West Ham.
He’s found his form and confidence under manager Ivan Juric, establishing himself as their star man with several impressive performances.
They are keen to keep him on a permanent basis in the summer but Toro explain that could be difficult for them as their finances are tight and they would have to ‘shell out’ €27m for him and striker Aleksei Miranchuk.
The club also have ‘compulsory’ options on other players, further limiting their funds creating a need to find ‘alternative’ ways to sign Vlasic and Miranchuk.
Their idea is to seek a renewal of the loan deals with West Ham and Atalanta, postponing the purchase of one of the two until next year, or to see a ‘discount on the figures’ they agreed for them in August.
That won’t be easy to achieve by any means but director Davide Vagnati ‘will get to work in the coming weeks’ on both cases in the hope of finding deals that suit all parties.
