Bayern Munich “see an opportunity” to sign Harry Kane from Bayern Munich this summer because Tottenham are “not offering a great salary package” to him.
That’s according to BILD journalist Christian Falk, who says that the German champions believe they can take advantage of Tottenham’s refusal to offer big wages to the striker.
Kane is currently inside the final 18 months of his current deal at Tottenham, which is set to expire in June 2024.
Spurs are keen to get their record goal scorer signed to a new deal but that is yet to happen, despite months of negotiations between the two parties.
If a deal cannot be struck it is likely that Kane will be sold on this summer, with the upcoming transfer window Tottenham’s final chance to get money for the England captain.
Bayern Munich are known to be among his admirers as they look for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski and have been eyeing up a move since last summer.
According to Falk, their interest in the striker remains a strong one, with the German champions aware of the contract talks with Tottenham and ready to take advantage of them.
“Bayern also know that Tottenham are not keen on losing Kane to another Premier League club – I’ve heard that there is a decision about it within the club,” FCB Inside report Falk saying.
“Everyone knows that Harry Kane only leaves to win titles. I’m not sure Manchester United can guarantee that at the moment, but Bayern Munich can.
“Tottenham are not offering a great salary package at the moment, so Bayern see an opportunity and they know that the player does not want to make a decision in the near future.”
