Tottenham youngster Rio Bromfield is set to sign for Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer ahead of next season.
That’s according to Gladbach Live, who say the youngster has been secured and will be playing in the Lower Rhine from next season onwards.
They explain that while Gladbach are busy focusing on improving their first team, there is also plenty of movement in the youth sector too.
They’ve recently secured the signing of 15-year-old Jakub Peter and fellow 15-year-old Rio Bromfield is set to join him in a deal from Tottenham Hotspur.
The move is an interesting one as Bromfield recently made his debut for both England’s U16s and Germany’s U16, featuring for the former at the beginning of November before two appearances for Germany later in the month.
His appearances for Germany saw him featuring alongside Gladbach youngsters Marcello Trippel, Elias Vali Fard and Can Güner.
They all play in Borussia’s U17 team, and it appears the German club are planning to link them up with Bromfield at club level as they are busy ‘setting the course for the future’.
Either way, the youngster will be arriving from Tottenham at some point in the near future, with a deal seemingly done but not yet announced.
