Botafogo are trying to sign Vitinho from Burnley but have run into ‘obstacles’ in their attempts to do so.
That’s according to GOAL Brazil, who cover the interest today and the efforts from the Brazilian club to sign the Burnley man.
They explain that while Botafogo have shown an interest in Vitinho, the 25-year-old would prefer to stay in European football for the time being.
Botafogo have already opened talks with Burnley and did so via John Textor, who talked to the Claret’s management about the player. They did not come to an agreement for the full-back.
A return to Brazil has been practically ruled out by the Burnley man, who wants to stay in Europe. He believes he is in a good moment in his career and can continue that where he is.
He’s also garnered interest from Cruzeiro, who evaluated the possibility of making a proposal to Burnley too. They too, though, were told that the player was not thinking about leaving Europe at this moment in time.
The question is whether he receives any offers from Europe or ends up remaining at Burnley and playing in the Championship this season.
