At the weekend, Sabah reported Trabzonspor are set to hold talks with Southampton over a fresh deal for Paul Onuachu.
The Saints allowed the striker to join the Turkish club on loan last summer, and he’s scored nine goals and registered three assists from 17 league games this season.
A fresh report from Sabah states the Süper Lig side aim to retain the Southampton man by extending his loan for one more year.
The Nigeria international has already said he and his family are happy with their life in Trabzon. The newspaper relay his comments and add the club’s management are also happy with his performances this season.
It’s said Trabzonspor are in contact with the Southampton owned player and have ‘rolled up their sleeves’ to negotiate a new loan deal with the Championship side.
Southampton would obviously want to get something for Onuachu, if he were to leave again in the next window.
Earlier claims from Turkey had had stated Russell Martin’s side want €12m for the former Genk man and are refusing to budge.
If this were to be the case, it will be difficult for Trabzonspor to secure a new loan deal.
