PSV Eindhoven have come forward to sign Aston Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi before the window closes.
Ruud van Nistelrooy won’t be able to rely on Noni Madueke for the first half of the season after he suffered an ankle injury in July.
With PSV in need to bring of a replacement for the 20-year-old, Voetbal International state El Ghazi has emerged as an option for the Eredivisie side.
PSV are looking at Steven Gerrard’s man to strengthen their right wing position. If Cody Gakpo were to leave, then they will look to bring in another winger.
Voetbal International’s claim is also echoed by De Telegraaf, who then provide additional information on this case.
The Dutch club failed to make it to the Champions League group stage after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Rangers on Wednesday. A day later, they ‘reported to Aston Villa’ to express their interest.
El Ghazi has less than 12 months left on his deal and has little chance of getting regular game time with Gerrard’s side this season. PSV coming forward for him could please the English club as it would open the door to offload him.
Both VI and De Telegraaf claim PSV are in the picture for the player, but neither of them provide any details on whether El Ghazi wants to join Van Nistelrooy’s side.
