Juventus are reliant on Nottingham Forest turning Douglas Luiz’s loan deal into a permanent one before they can think about signing Bernardo Silva from Manchester City.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who cover the situation today amid multiple reports that Juventus are eyeing the Manchester City midfielder.
They report that Silva is seen as a ‘prime opportunity’ in Turin, especially if he doesn’t renew his deal with Manchester City in the coming months. His current one expires in June 2026.
Juventus are particularly interested in him as they eye potential free transfers next summer. For now, there has been no contact with the Manchester City star or his entourage, but relations with Jorge Mendes are strong.
The idea is expected to become more concrete in the coming months, more so if Silva doesn’t renew. The main obstacle would be current €10m per year wages.
To help, financially, Juventus would rely on two permanent exits next summer. One of those is Douglas Luiz, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest. That deal includes a clause to make it permanent.
If that is activated, and they can also move on Nico Gonzalez, it would free up €14m gross in wages for Juventus, giving them funds to target Bernardo Silva if he’s available on a free.
