Swiss club FC Basel are celebrating Dan Ndoye’s move from Bologna to Nottingham Forest, as they pocket extra money from resale clauses.
That’s according to Blick, who say the winger’s move to Nottingham Forest has brought in ‘big bucks’ for his former club.
They explain that the €40m Nottingham Forest transfer will see Basel pocket 15% from a sell-on clause, worth around €6m. They originally sold him to Bologna for €10m in 2023.
His other previous clubs have also benefitted too, thanks to FIFA’s Solidarity Scheme. All in all, everyone is benefitting.
It’s not the first time that Basel have benefited from Premier League spending this summer, as they pocketed €6m from a percentage they still owned on Thierno Barry, who moved in a big-money deal from Villarreal to Everton.
They even got 20% of the fee from Wouter Burger’s move from Stoke City to Hoffenheim as well. All in all, a good summer of earning from their former players.
The move also means Ndoye enters the Swiss record books as he becomes the second most expensive Switzerland player in history. Only Granit Xhaka has cost more, when he moved to Arsenal in 2016 for €45m.
