On Thursday, Tottenham’s apparent interest in AC Milan’s Suso reappeared thanks to Calciomercato, who stated €50m should do the trick for Mauricio Pochettino’s side to get their man.

However, the Spanish forward recently told his club’s official channel he was more interested in staying in Italy for the foreseeable future, seeing himself playing at San Siro ‘for many years’.

Let’s be honest, such statements will never stop the rumours from being written, and Corriere dello Sport on Friday claim two unnamed Premier League clubs made a €20m offer for Suso over the summer, which were swiftly rejected.

The offers were described as ‘sumptuous’, which makes us wonder what adjective would be used for a €50m bid.

While the two English sides aren’t named, it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to work out one of them was probably Tottenham, who have been the most heavily linked with Suso over the past few months.

One of Milan’s best players at the moment, the Spain U21 international is also one of their cheapest acquisitions in recent years, costing them just over £1m, meaning even €20m would be a nice profit.

Yet we all know, in this market, €50m for a player who has five goals and six assists in 15 appearances is far more realistic.

Either way, it would take a lot of money from Tottenham to convince AC Milan to let him go.
