Earlier this week, Mundo Deportivo reported Leeds United are close to agreeing a deal for Barcelona’s Ilias Akhomach.
It was also explained the winger’s camp are hoping the Whites continue in the Premier League next season, and they’re not contemplating any other scenarios.
Leeds are currently 19th in the table, a point behind West Ham United, in 17th, and two points behind Everton, who are 15th in the table.
The 18-year-old has made three appearances for the La Liga side’s first team since he made his debut in November 2021. He hasn’t featured this season and has a deal expiring in June.
Apart from Leeds, Voetbal Krant state the Spain U19 international has drawn the attention from Club Brugge. They ‘receive good news’ in the chase for the player’s signature.
Despite Mundo’s earlier claim about Leeds, the website states Akhomach would still be an option for Club Brugge and others because Javi Gracia’s side are in the relegation zone.
It’s not clear if Akhomach would favour a move to Club Brugge. However, the Jupiler Pro League side, along with his other suitors, Sevilla and AC Milan, would be in the picture to sign the teenager, until Leeds’ final position in the table is confirmed.
