This Monday, we covered reports from France which said Manchester United would be interested in the Flamengo star Lucas Paquetá.
Outlet Le10Sport claimed that the Red Devils have joined the battle with Paris Saint Germain for the midfielder. It was claimed that even though the player has a €50m release clause, a January deal could be found for around €40m.
Since the news came out, we’ve been taking a look at the Brazilian media to see if there’s any update on the situation.
Truth is that no one in Brazil seems to know about Manchester United’s interest. Many outlets are covering the news from France, but none of them could confirm the story.
When covering the news, Fox Sports’ website claims that they already knew about PSG’s interest in Paquetá, and confirms that the release clause exists.
They recall that in a recent interview, Flamengo vice president Eduardo Lomba has admitted that the player may leave the club at the end of the year, as Flamengo would be ready to find a replacement.
So it sounds like the race for Paquetá is on, but we’re still to find a reliable source saying more about Manchester United’s interest.
