If the latest to come out of Turkey is to be believed, then Roberto Firmino will head to the Süper Lig next season once he leaves Liverpool.

The Brazilian declared earlier this season that he would finally be leaving Anfield and will run down his contract, much to the dismay of many at the club.

The Liverpool forward has been such an important part of the Jürgen Klopp era that he will be sorely missed, but one club’s loss is another’s gain, and Galatasaray could benefit if Sportcell are to be believed.

Taking to Twitter, the outlet, relaying information from their journalist Saga Kaan Öztürk, explain the Turkish side have made ‘great progress’ in their efforts to sign the 31-year-old.

They then add that ‘an agreement in principle’ has been reached with Firmino himself, but the ‘terms of the contract’ continue to be negotiated.

This suggests the Liverpool man, who wants to be playing regularly next season, is happy to move to Galatasaray, but will, of course, want to be remunerated adequately in the process.

Something to keep an eye on as we edge closer to the end of the campaign, and the end of Firmino’s contract.
