Marseille have struck a verbal agreement with Norwich City for the signing of Jonathan Rowe, with him initially set to move to France on loan.
That’s according to journalist Sébastien Denis, who provides the details on the move today as Roberto de Zerbi gets closer to his latest signing at his new club.
Denis reports that Norwich and Marseille have reached a verbal agreement on an initial loan deal, which the French side will pay €3m for.
That loan will become mandatory next summer for €12m and does not appear to include any clauses to make it so.
The 21-year-old has already given his approval to the move and has already agreed to join Marseille before the end of the transfer window.
With a verbal agreement now in place, he is likely to be given permission to travel for a medical in the coming days.
That will be the next step in what has been a rapid transfer process, with Marseille moving quickly to try and secure his signature and bring his association with Norwich, where he started in the youth teams and has moved up to the first team since 2019, to an end.
