Leeds United’s Diego Llorente spent the second part of last season on loan at AS Roma, who decided against exercising their €18m buying option. His displays convinced the Serie A side to try to make another effort to bring him back to the club in this window.
On Tuesday, we relayed news from Italy that Roma general manager Tiago Pinto wants to convince the Whites to find a new, more affordable solution, to sign the 29-year-old.
Pinto seems to have succeeded in his efforts to convince the English club as Sky Italia state Roma have ‘reached an agreement’ with Leeds for the centre-back’s transfer.
After an ‘agreement was found’ between the two clubs for a loan deal, they are discussing whether or not to include a buying option as part of the deal.
This claim is echoed by Gianluca Di Marzio, who then adds ‘only one last detail is missing’ for the Spaniard to join José Mourinho’s side on another loan deal. That ‘last detail’ is to do with whether to include an option to buy.
These two reports state the Leeds man will return to Roma in this window, after making 12 appearances for the Italian club last season.
