Atalanta are keen on signing Birmingham City’s Jordan James and this has been discussed in the Italian media for the past few days.
On January 8th, Calciomercato reported the Blues could sanction the 19-year-old’s sale since they need to raise cash. A day later, Sportitalia suggested the Serie A side could return with an improved proposal after making an initial €5m plus bonuses.
The Italian club are working on both incomings and outgoings. With regards to signings and in particular of the Championship midfielder, there’s been progress.
It’s claimed Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have ‘already reached’ an agreement with the Wales international and a deal now needs to be agreed with Birmingham City.
This is likely to happen soon as Tutto Atalanta explain that the Serie A side have ‘only a few details remain’ to be defined with Birmingham City to conclude James’ transfer.
They, however, make no mention of the fee Birmingham City will collect from selling the teenager to Atalanta.
