Most of the Portuguese media today has been saying that Ruben Amorim won’t be leaving Sporting for West Ham United, after the meeting they had in London didn’t have a positive outcome.
It turns out that as Lisbon newspapers now write about the Lions’ transfer market, the Hammers are mentioned again, this time in a battle for a signing.
Sporting, just like West Ham, are said to be interested in Anderlecht defender Zeno Debast. A Bola is one of those mentioning that chase, claiming the Portuguese club could soon ‘advance with a bid’ to sign him.
While Correio da Manhã writes about the same player, they not only say that the Lions want to ‘quickly advance’ for the signing, but also mention that the Hammers are competing to get him.
That’s an interesting situation, as West Ham may not be happy about the outcome of Amorim’s meeting, and could now see the manager winning the race for one of their targets.
It’s obvious, though, that the Hammers have better financial conditions than Sporting, so it’s all about them being convinced to put more money on the table for the defender and getting his desire on their side.
