Borussia Dortmund have enquired with Aston Villa about a move for hon Jáder Durán but been quoted an €85m asking price.
That’s according to journalist Pipe Sierra, who report that’s a figure the German side will ‘not advance’ on at this moment in time.
The Colombian journalist reports that Durán continues to generate interest in his services as he continues to impress under Unai Emery.
The 21-year-old has been enjoying a rapid rise under Emery’s guidance over the last year and has 12 goals in 26 appearances so far this season, despite only playing 976 minutes in total. Three of those goals have come in six games in the Champions League.
He’s subsequently been linked with moves across Europe, with several big sides all thought to be keen on him and even making him their number one target.
That was certainly the case with Napoli and now Borussia Dortmund can be added to the list of suitors according to Sierra.
He reports that they ‘asked for conditions’ from Aston Villa to sign the striker and were quoted an €85m asking price as a result. That’s a figure they can’t afford, and they won’t push further because of it.
Indeed, it’s a figure that is deterring away all suitors, with Sierra adding that ‘few teams’ can pay for the striker at this moment in time. That is presumably exactly what Aston Villa want as they look to keep Durán or secure a huge sale if they’re forced into one.
