Earlier today, we covered reports from the Italian media which said Atalanta suddenly entered strong in the race for West Ham striker Gianlucca Scamacca.
It was said that the Hammers wanted the sale done by the end of the day, and with the Bergamo side outbidding Inter Milan, they seemed to have the lead for the signing.
Now it’s time for Gazzetta Dello Sport to feature an update on this situation, and they bring more details about new offer.
According to their report, Atalanta are offering West Ham €30m plus the percentage of a future transfer.
Inter Milan’s bid had been of €24m plus €6m in bonuses, so this new offer gives the Hammers a guarantee of receiving that whole amount at once.
Gazzetta writes that Scamacca himself would ‘obviously’ prefer to play for Inter Milan, as they have a place in the Champions League, there’s obviously more to it than that if his preferred choice don’t come forward with more money.
It’s also said that Atalanta’s new offer matches the request made by West Ham, so unless someone else offers that amount, it seems there are very good chances for a deal.
