Eintracht Frankfurt ‘would probably agree’ to sell striker Andre Silva for a fee of €40m this summer should the likes of Manchester United offer it.

That’s according to Frankfurter Rundschau, who cover the Portuguese striker’s future ahead of a potential big move this summer.

Silva has been heavily linked with a move after an impressive season in the Bundesliga in which he has scored 25 goals in 29 games in the Bundesliga so far.

That puts him level with Erling Haaland in the goalscoring charts and only behind Robert Lewandowski, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by the big clubs in Europe.

He’s been linked to several over the last month or so, including Manchester United, whose interest is said to have been ‘aroused’ by his performances.

Indeed, there have been claims he could be allowed to leave for as little as €30m, a price that would be very attractive given the fees being touted for the likes of Haaland.

Frankfurter Rundschau cover the situation in a piece today and state that it is ‘rather unlikely’ that Frankfurt can keep hold of Silva this summer.

While they may have a chance of persuading the striker to stay if they can qualify for the Champions League, the fact is Silva has ‘catapulted himself into higher spaces’ and can move to ‘other football galaxies’ this summer.

His goalscoring numbers mean ‘the big clubs have long been interested’, and so they will likely be forced to sell if one comes calling.

In that regard, there is no exit clause in his current contract, but ‘of course, there is a price tag of around €40m.’

If an offer from teams like Manchester United arrives in that area, Eintracht ‘would probably agree’ to a sale.

If not, they ‘would at least have to think’ about it, although it is a matter of negotiation that could drag on given he will be playing at the European Championships this summer.

In the meantime, Silva is just going about his business but has been ‘fairly unimpressed’ about the constant rumours.

If anything, they are driving him to do better, and one more goal would see him match the record set by club icon Bernd Hölzenbein in 1976/77.

That would probably see the interest from the likes of Manchester United increase, with a move now more of a matter of time if he continues scoring as he has been.
