Galatasaray have ‘pressed the button’ to sign Jorginho from Arsenal, open contacts with his agent as he gears up to become a free agent in the summer.
That’s according to Takvim, who say the Turkish club are stepping up their efforts to get the Italian for next season.
They explain that Galatasaray have ‘pressed the button’ to sign Jorginho, after showing an interest in him during the January transfer window.
They have decided to ‘act quickly’ to try and get the 32-year-old, who also has interest from other clubs around Europe.
The club’s management have already contacted Jorginho’s agent about a possible move in the summer, when his current deal with Arsenal expires.
Reports over the last few months have hinted Arsenal would like to extend that deal but no new deal has been signed and it was reported last week that talks had suddenly stopped between the two parties.
That appears to have sparked Galatasaray into action, and they’ve now opened talks with Jorginho’s agent about a potential deal.
Whether the Italian is interested in the move remains to be seen, particularly with other offers likely to be on the table should he leave Arsenal on a free transfer.
