Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan is travelling to England imminently to hold transfer talks with Southampton forward Mislav Oršić.
That’s according to 61 Saat, who say Trabzonspor have Southampton’s ‘permission’ to talk to the player over a transfer this summer.
Oršić arrived at Southampton in the January transfer window as part of their efforts to improve their forward line that month but has barely featured since his arrival.
He has spent most of his time out of the picture and forgotten about, leading to reports that he will be moved on without much fanfare in the summer transfer window.
Trabzonspor have emerged as contenders for his signature this month, with a report six days ago claiming that they’ve made an official first offer for him.
61 Saat follow that up today and say that Doğan is travelling abroad to finalise transfers for the summer and his first destination will be England.
His ‘first target’ is to finalise a move for Oršić, with him having already received permission from Southampton to talk to the player.
Doğan’s plan is to meet with the player and his agent to ‘seek an agreement’, as Trabzonspor’s technical director ‘insists on’ signing the forward. Their intent is to make a loan offer with an option to buy.
Whether that will be accepted by Southampton remains to be seen, but the Turkish side are seemingly working on the deal, nonetheless.
