Wolverhampton Wanderers are not interested in FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi. At least according to the president of the Portuguese club himself.
Pinto da Costa has today been present at the inauguration of an exhibition at the club’s museum, and spoke to the press a little about transfers in the summer market.
When speaking of Brahimi and Marega’s possible departures, he said: “So far no one has told us that they’re interested in either or both,” (via O Jogo).
“To FC Porto, nothing came. I saw yesterday that Brahimi had Wolverhampton very interested in him. I spoke with the one responsible for this club and he laughed.”
Reports from Portugal, England and even France have been claiming Wolves interest in Brahimi.
The word in the Portuguese press has been that the winger would be available for €30m, despite his €60m release clause. The reason for that is that his contract expires next year, and Porto don’t want to take the risk of losing him for free next season.
Even though they’d clearly be happy with a big sale, Porto still don’t want to push around a Wolves rumour they believe to be fake.
