With the City Football Group looking to take over a club in Brazil, it’s been a few months since the local media started reporting that Bahia would be their favourite option, with talks having already started.

Now it seems the negotiations are indeed progressing. Because according to the latest claims, club president Guilherme Bellintani has travelled to England to speak with Manchester City’s leaders.

The trip was first reported by journalist Cáscio Cardoso and now backed up by Correio. It’s said the official is sorting the ‘final details’ before bringing the bid to Bahia’s board.

The process, however, shouldn’t be so quick. Just like most Brazilian sides, the club from Salvador can’t have a new owner yet. They’re going through a voting process which could turn them into a conventional business, and only then can they be bought by the City Group or any other bidder.

Now the talks in Manchester make it clear that City’s owners are the favourites for the purchase. And in case they succeed, that’s undoubtedly a big boost for Manchester City in their hunt for talents in Brazil.
