At the end of the last week, we covered reports from Argentina which said the City Football Group was close to signing Nahuel Bustos from Talleres.

The report said the South American club were close to accepting the bid, and instead of moving directly to Manchester City, the player should be loaned out to Girona.

Now it’s claims from Brazil who say the deal is close to being done. ESPN is the one reporting it, since Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro were also in the race for the striker.

Talleres president Andrés Fassi told ESPN Brasil that the move is nearly done, and Bustos should sign a contract with the City Group today.

The report says it was the ‘Manchester City Group’ who offered €5.5m for 60% of the player’s rights. That’s a little different from the report from Argentina, who said it’d be €8m for 80%

Either way, it seems Bustos is close on joining the City Football Group, and we should soon be able to see if Pep Guardiola will give him a chance at Manchester City or not.
