Braga have now officially confirmed that Rodrigo Gomes is on his way to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
As club president Antonio Salvador today spoke to the Portuguese media, he got asked about some transfer businesses, and didn’t mind talking about the player’s departure.
The Braga chief even said that the move will be announced by Wolves very soon. The quotes come from Mais Futebol.
“I can confirm that. Rodrigo Gomes’ departure will be officialised soon, within a few hours. It’s an asset that has been sorted at Wolverhampton,” said Antonio Salvador.
The Portuguese media had been on the money regarding Gomes’ transfer to Wolverhampton. Earlier this week, they had already reported that he travelled to England for a medical, and then that he signed the contract with the Molineux side.
Gomes actually drew Wolves’ interest while playing for Estoril on a loan this season. Back in January, his agent had already confirmed to the press that the English club got in touch for his signing.
It seems Wolverhampton had to wait for a few months until getting a final deal with Braga for his transfer. With Estoril not having a chance to hold him, the Molineux club are now getting him landed on a €15m deal.
