Leicester City’s Nampalys Mendy has now emerged as a target for Beşiktaş in the winter market, according to Haberler.
The Senegal international was left out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans at the start of this term and returned to the squad in mid-October. He has made six substitute appearances off the bench in the Premier League since then.
His contract at Leicester runs down next June and the Turkish club have plans to take the 30-year-old away from the King Power Stadium in January.
In need of a new midfielder for the second half of this campaign, a ‘surprise name’ has ended up in the Black Eagles’ target list and that is Mendy.
It’s said the Turkish club are ‘preparing to make an offer’ to sign the former AS Monaco man in the next window.
Mendy was part of the Senegal squad that were knocked out of the World Cup by England. The report explains Beşiktaş will start talks with the player over a potential transfer in January.
The player’s sale in the mid-season window will help Leicester earn money rather than seeing him leave for nothing next summer.
